PDF Tools
Extract Text from PDF Online
Load a PDF and pull text with pdf.js. This works for PDFs that already contain a text layer. Scanned image-only PDFs will yield little or nothing — this tool does not perform OCR.
Your workspace
Runs in your browserHow to use
- 1Select a PDF with a text layer.
- 2Review the extracted text.
- 3Copy it or download a .txt file.
What this tool does
- — Page markers in the output
- — Copy and download
- — No OCR claims
Useful when
- — Quoting a digital report
- — Moving PDF copy into a notes app
Limits
- — No optical character recognition. Scans need a separate OCR tool.
Where processing happens
pdf.js reads the text content stream of each page in your browser. Image-only scans without a text layer cannot be recognized.
