Privacy Policy

Short version: Tool inputs are processed in your browser. ToolNest does not operate a file-upload API for converters. The contact form sends a message through Formspree. Some tools load libraries or an optional AI model from public CDNs into your browser.

1. Core principle

When you merge a PDF, compress an image, generate a password, or hash text, that work happens on your device using JavaScript. Your files are not uploaded to ToolNest servers.

2. What we don’t collect from tools

• No file uploads of PDFs, images, or documents to ToolNest.
• No accounts or stored user profiles.
• No logging of the text you type into tools.

3. Local storage

Theme preference, a short “recent tools” list, and the Online Notepad use your browser’s localStorage. That data stays on the device and can be cleared in browser settings.

4. Contact form

Submitting the contact form sends your name, email, subject, and message to Formspree and then to our email. That is the main place we receive personal information you choose to provide.

5. Analytics and advertising

We may use privacy-conscious analytics (page and event names such as tool_open, without tool contents) and may display ads through Google AdSense. When advertising is enabled, Google and other advertising partners may place and read cookies, use web beacons, and collect IP addresses and browser identifiers to deliver, measure and personalize ads. Where required, consent is requested through a Google-certified consent management platform before these uses. You can manage or withdraw consent through that platform. You can also learn more at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google may use cookies to serve personalized ads. You can opt out at Google Ad Settings. Ads will not be styled as download or tool buttons.

6. Third-party libraries and models

Tools load open-source libraries as needed (for example jsPDF, pdf-lib, pdf.js, qrcode, marked, DOMPurify, js-md5). The Background Remover may download an optional model (@imgly/background-removal) from a public CDN into your browser; the photo is still processed locally. If that download fails, a local color-based fallback runs instead.

Hosting and external requests

Our hosting provider may process technical access logs including IP addresses, requested URLs and browser information for security and operation. Website fonts are served by our host. Optional library or model CDNs receive connection information when your browser downloads their resources. Tool input files are not included in those requests. Contact messages are used to respond to your inquiry; contact us to request access, correction or deletion.

7. Your rights

Because tool inputs are not stored by us, there is nothing to export from converters. If you submitted the contact form and want that message removed, email us.

8. Children

ToolNest is not directed at children under 13.
